2. BUY A VOICES FOR HOPE ORNAMENT OR WALL SET
In collaboration with Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan, and local company Dither & Etch, we have designed an exclusive series of three beautiful wooden ornaments, each representing a commitment to standing in solidarity with women and girls and Afghanistan.
100% of the profit from all ornament/wall art sales will be donated to CW4WAfghan for their work in supporting human rights of Afghan women and girls through access to education, and responding to the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
Native to the central Asia mountains, the tulip is the national flower of Afghanistan.
A fiercely competitive sport and an art form in Afghanistan, kite flying was banned by the Taliban from 1996 -- 2001. Since then, the kite has become a symbol for democracy, but also the ongoing discrimination against women.
Lanterns are highly symbolic, as objects that radiate light, and the metaphor of the lantern has resonance in Afghan culture and literature.
Single Ornament (Tulip or Kite or Lantern): $20.00
Full Set of 3 Ornaments (Tulip, Kite, & Lantern): $50.00
Full Set of 3 Ornaments Mounted in Framed Shadowbox (Tulip, Kite, & Lantern): $75.00
Buy for yourself, buy as gifts --- 100% of profits from ornament sales donated to Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan!
If you are unable to attend the benefit concert, you can still donate! Your donations will support CW4WAfghan's ongoing programs and response to the escalating needs to support vulnerable groups in Afghanistan in the following four impact areas:
